Biographies

 First Cover Biography:

Simon Davis, 18, was born in Lincolnshire to his Indonesian mother and British father, however, due to his parents business jobs, he and his family never managed to stay in one place for long. They constantly moved throughout his early childhood, continuing into his teenage years. Because of this, throughout most of his life he never managed to socialise properly with new people every time due to new schools and environments. Although he still had managed to make some few friends, he preferred to spend most of his time alone. During this time, he started to get attached to the game of chess, while others played with PlayStation or on their PCs. He found solace in the game, believing it to be a unique, one of a kind board game in which people always need to think three steps ahead of their opponent. This managed to keep him occupied and also enjoy his free time, learning to master the game and get better at it. He also watched a lot of action films in his free time, which developed into a fascination in crime and thriller stories, and even spy films, imagining himself as the "next James Bond". Continuing through his teenage years, he went on to grow a passion for acting and pursue a career in the film industry through acting. He hoped to get a major star role while he was still young, and attended university for an acting degree. He landed on the main role of "The Gentleman's Game" due to the film's inclusion of chess as a major theme, as well as it being a crime film, two things that he felt nostalgic and connected to.

Second Cover Biography:

Eveline Taylor was born and raised in York in 1999 with her older sister by their single father, James. Her father was a police officer, so she was always surrounded by the idea of what's right and wrong and what justice is and what isn't. During her younger pre-teen years, she began to undertake acting classes. She would watch films with her father and sister and would become fascinated by the stories that would unfold on screen. But what stood out to her more than most were the actors and the idea that they drove the film's narrative more than anything and how their personalities reflects the entire film. At the age of 11, she began acting in small roles and acting opportunities in the industry through various auditions and was even called a "prodigy" for her acting at such a young age. This made her aspire to commit to acting as a career for her in the future. However, going into her teenage years, she started to realise her sexuality and found herself to be bisexual. At the start, she was a bit worried, as not many actors were as open to being bisexuals like her a the time. However, she quickly turned it around, as she believed that she could make the representation and stance on people like herself thrive in the film industry, making people part of the LGBTQ community recognised more as the films she would watch never really featured a main character like that. She would eventually come to prove this by landing a major role in the "Utopia" series, starring in a recurring main role. The popularity the film gained through her performance and herself, guaranteed the movie's success, and greenlit two sequels and a reboot (in which she was now the protagonist). She wanted to be make her role in the reboot the best it could be as it featured many aspects of justice, corruption and conspiracy, some of which resonated with her due to her father's job, along with sci-fi and action, two genres she loved.
